Time for assembly!

All of the parts have come in now, so it's time for final assembly

Using cyclepedia on the laptop, and clymers, cyclepedia has much better pictures, by clymers details some of the gears better

Checking center case gasket thickness, the gasket sets the oil pump clearance, so we used an OEM gasket, the ebay kit gasket was the same thickness FWIW

Transmission is in, cases back together, it took us a few tries, there's quite a few parts that have to line up and go together exactly right, without having the oil pump fall out

These gears have punch marks that must be lined up

Almost done, make sure the shift shaft stays in there, easy to slide it out into the clutch. The kickstart mechanism gave me trouble, you have to turn it when you install it, so the ratchet section slides over the metal bracket that holds it separated, then wind the spring the rest of the way

all together now!
